Description

Good Things Will Come - Director: Janelle Bosek - United States - Runtime: 39:58 -Documentary Faced with immigrating to the US from Cuba alone as children – via a secret program called Operation Pedro Pan that received over 14,000 children between 1960 and 1962 – this short documentary follows two former “Pedro Paners” who agreed to share their insights and contemplations on the impact this event had on their lives and what we all have to learn from it today. Through their memories, they re-witness the slow decay of their idyllic life in Cuba and recall the haunting rise of Fidel Castro’s dictatorship in the early 60s, which causes them to flee through the secret airlifts coordinated by the Catholic Church, the US State Department and people on the ground in Cuba. Janelle Bosek - Director Janelle is a first-time filmmaker, but no stranger to getting complicated projects done on time and on budget. In her day job, Janelle owns a small consulting company that manages non-profit clients’ real estate construction projects that range from $5mm to $25mm and has personally managed over $200mm of capital projects during her career. She leads her company with a mission to help low-income underserved populations and all of her clients are non-profits working in the critical areas of education and healthcare. Janelle’s tenacity and the project management leadership skills that she has developed while managing complex real estate projects has translated beautifully to managing a documentary film team. She knew it was all about attention to details, the mission of the film to heal her own ancestral wounds through storytelling, and the excellence of the team she had around her to support her vision for the film.
