Description

Calling all of Ordevians, Leaders, and Friends of Rdevia... Our 3rd Annual Celebration of the Fight for Historically Black Colleges and Universities is finally here. Can you believe it? Join us on Saturday, April 1, 2023 for Dew in the Morning, our favorite Saturday of the year. Since 2021, we have gathered on Zoom at the beginning of Spring to celebrate all that Rdevia has done and everyone who has made it possible while sipping on the finest coffee roasted by Black-Owned Coffee Connoisseurs (like BD Imports) complimented by cookies baked with loved from our favorite Black-Owned Cookie Shop, Bite Me, Inc. And it didn't just stop there, in 2022, we remembered our tea lovers and partnered with Flora's Tea Company (another Black-Owned Business, of course) to provide the best tea you can find anywhere in town. With that being said: In 2023, we are doing it even bigger! Not only will we continue our relationships with the Black-Owned Businesses listed above but we have new goodies on the way from Black-Owned Businesses like BoCa Flavor and Jam & Bougie. So if you are attending virtually, be sure to purchase a Brunch Kit as it will be packed with Black-Owned Deliciousness and will be just what you need to get your morning started right while you join us on Zoom. For those who are maybe "all Zoomed out," we got you! This year, we are finally coming together in-person! Thanks to our title sponsor, Peerspace, we will be hosting an in-person celebration at the Center for Black Innovation in the Historic City of Overtown, FL. We hope to see yall there! Whether you join us on Zoom or at the Center for Black Innovation, we hope you are just as excited as we are about this year's happenings, including: Installation of New Visitors to the Board of VisitorsOver $5,000 Awarded to Future and Current HBCU Students Launch of New Scholarship Fund: Lion Greatness Award ($2000 In Awards)Launch of New Scholarship Fund: Epic HBCU Journey Distance Learning Scholarship ($1000 In Awards)Presentation of the 3rd Ordevian of the YearPresentation of the 2nd Leader of the YearIn addition to the above, we will also be commemorating the end of service for the following leaders, some of whom will be extended the honor of Emeritus Status (it's a secret): Tameka Bradley Hobbs, Ph.D.Elyse Jones, M.P.A.Emmanuel Lalande, Ed.D.Damion Trout, MCC, PM-LPCDiane Wilson Onwuchekwa, M.S.And we will announce the winners of our continued scholarships, which include awards from the following endowed funds: E.
