The Portland Oregon chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will be presenting a program of traditional and modern arrangements of music in the a cappella and 4-part harmony style at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 15th at the Sherwood Center for the Arts. The Portland Chapter is also sponsoring a raffle to win a 7-night stay at the beautiful and well-appointed Aloha Lani Condo #A208 in Kailua-Kona HI at Casa De Emdeko Resort. The show will feature The Newfangled Four, one of the top barbershop quartets in the world. Combining old fashion slapstick humor with their quirky offbeat comedy, The Newfangled Four merges their talents as top-notch harmony singers and first-class entertainers who perform throughout the United State and Internationally. The show will also feature two award winning choruses - Vocal Summit and PDX Voices - and three award winning quartets - InVoice, Mugshot and Argonauts - representing the best of mens and mixed barbershop ensembles in the Portland area. Both Vocal Summit and PDX Voices have earned the right to represent the Northwest at the 2023 International Chorus Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. As a patron of our show, you are helping to support their trip to the competition. What to expect? Toe tapping musical numbers will include everything from religious to contemporary in style. Look out for a few special surprises to make it an extra magical spring fling performance for all ages.
