This year’s Lenten service, Love Divine: Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs for the Season of Lent, celebrates the relationship between God and all people. The works presented by Canto Deo’s Festival and Chamber Choirs call upon ancient words of worship from the Old and New testaments and focus on the light, love, and presence of God in our lives and our grateful response. In the Christian faith, Lent is a time to recall Christ’s gracious love and sacrifice on our behalf. From this mindset, we will reflect on that love and His ongoing presence in our lives through the perspective of composers Josef Rheinberger, Ola Gjeilo, and Thomas Hewitt Jones. Note: There is no charge for this service. Tickets are not required for this event, but we ask that you RSVP in order to help us count attendance.
