Description

The TypeOneNation Summit is an educational and networking opportunity for all those impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D). This year the TON Summit will bring our community together to learn from T1D experts, meet vendor exhibitors, connect with others impacted by T1D, and more. We look forward to having you join us! Please, reserve a spot for each guest who will be attending using the appropriate ticket type. Keynote SpeakersDr. Elizabeth Dabrowski is a board-certified pediatric endocrinologist. She attended Tulane Medical School, completed her pediatric training at Rush University Medical Center and completed fellowship training at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. She has a passion for all of endocrinology but, enjoys diabetes management. Jerrica Vaughan, APNP is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. Vaughan has worked at Children’s Hospital primary care for the past 5 years. She has always had a passion for mental health, and recently started her own private practice, Empowered Pediatrics LLC, a primary care extension for pediatric and adolescent behavioral and mental health. Vaughan’s daughter, Jules, was diagnosed with T1D in September of 2021 at 8 years old: “even though I have a medical background, the diagnosis completely rocked our world. I had no idea how much T1D would change our lives. As a T1D parent, I see the challenges that are faced daily living with Diabetes. I have also seen the mental health impact T1D has on the entire family. I am passionate about mental health, especially the mental health of T1Ds and their families.” John Niebler has been a Type I for 38 years. He was an early adopter of CGM technology, starting with the Abbott Labs Navigator and now using a Dexcom G6 with the Loop. Niebler started doing the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes in 2003 and started coaching in 2016. He joined the ride program because he wasn’t getting any exercise and since then it has been a great motivator to keep moving. Since starting to coach, John has had the opportunity to learn a lot about exercise and diabetes and have led many of the Riding with Type I sessions on JDRF Ride weekends. He enjoys helping others figure out what works for them and talking diabetes in general. Talking through things benefits all of us! Vendor ExhibitionMore details to come.
