Horicon Living History Days is back!!! Come to Horicon's River Bend Park to witness the sights, sounds, and smells of a Living History Reenactment. Reenactors and demonstrators representing the 1600's through World War II will be on hand portraying life from their chosen time periods. You can expect to see a Colonial Settlers, Wigwams, Wool-Spinners, Candle-Makers, French and Indian War, Frontiersmen, 18th and 19th Century Settlers, Civil War, Sutlers, World War I & II, Blackpowder Demonstrations, Battle Reenactments, and so much more. Admission $5.00 per person ages 12 and up$2.00 per person ages 6-115 and under are freeHoricon Historical Society members are free with proof of membershipSchedule of EventsFRIDAY: School Day - Please contact us for details as the event is only open to schools and homeschool groups and not to the general public. SATURDAY 9:00-Event Begins 10:00-Youth Tomahawk Throw 11:00-2:00-Brat and Burger Fry by the Horicon Phoenix Program 11:00-Battle Reenactment 1:00-Adult Tomahawk Throw 3:00-Apple Pie Contest (See below for instructions) 5:00-Event Closes SUNDAY 9:00-Event Begins 9:00-Ecumenical Church Service 10:00-Mother's Day Bags 11:00-2:00-Brat and Burger Fry 11:00-Battle Reenactment 3:00-Event Closes On Mother's Day, starting at 10:00 am, the first 24 Mothers that are accompanied by their families (human children and grandchildren) will receive a gift basket. We are having a pie baking contest! Members of the public are welcome to enter this new contest. There will be two divisions, one for the participants of the encampment, who will bake their pies over their campfires, and one for anyone else who wishes to enter. Pie type will be determined soon. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded for the top three winners in each category. ~Any kind of pie (within the chosen pie type is eligible.) Entries should be brought to the concession tent in River Bend Park, where the encampment is being held, by 2 P.M. on Saturday May 13th. Judging will take place at 3 P.M.After the judging, remaining pieces of the pie will be sold to hungry event visitors. Judges for the contest will be Lahn Neu of Horicon, Patrick Buchs of Beaver Dam, and 1 more to be announced.
