Description

Through this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about the process of inoculating oak logs for shitake mushroom cultivation. Participants will learn how to drill logs, hand inoculate with spores, cover the log holes with wax, and stack. As part of the workshop, participants will learn how to store and care for their take-home inoculated log in an appropriate outdoor setting in the coming year to support a mushroom bloom the following spring/summer. This workshop will take place outside, so participants should dress warmly and wear weather appropriate shoes.
