The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Office of Women’s Health and Community Health kicked off its “Listen to H.E.R.: Hearing, Empowering, Responding” town hall series in March. LDH will be hosting town halls in all nine public health regions. The second event will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. at the Southeastern Louisiana University Student Union Theatre located at 303 Union Avenue in Hammond. The goals of the town halls are to: • elevate women’s health needs; • promote local and state resources and services and • inform the priorities of LDH’s new Office of Women’s Health and Community Health. Community members in attendance can hear personal testimonies from special guests and participate in health screenings, resource fairs, a low-impact exercise, and other interactive activities.
