AU & Beyond: An Experiential Learning Expo

Join us at Bender Library on Wednesday, April 12th to hear directly from current and former students about the experiential learning happening across American University. This is your one-stop-shop to learn about research, internships, leadership opportunities, and ways to study abroad that you didn't even know existed! The Expo will open with an alumni panel moderated by Monica Jackson, the Deputy Provost & Dean of Faculty. Our alumni will talk about their engagement with experiential learning while at AU and how it has positively shaped their careers post-graduation. Following the alumni panel, there will be five panels of current AU students discussing how they've been engaging with research, career readiness (internships and practicums), curriculum integrated, global experiences (study abroad), and community-based/ service learning across AU and out in DC. The Expo will conclude with refreshments and a chance to speak to the faculty, students, and alumni who shared their experiences. Attendees can learn from our panelists while discovering new paths for themselves. This is a wonderful chance to network and even discover your next experiential learning opportunity! This event began in 2022 as an experiential learning project by School of Communication Public Relations students who deserve credit for starting this fantastic event and designing the logo.
