Filmmaker, Rebekah Evans, takes a trip to talk to her friends, family, and new acquaintances to get to know them outside of the labels that she has put on them, society has put on them, and that they have even put on themselves. In this film, you'll meet 12 individuals and go on the journey with them as they peel back societal layers of labels and discover, address, and find what truly makes them... THEM. EMBODYED is a special documentary which challenges one to do active listening, assessing, and self-reflection as they watch. Viewers are encouraged to do active listening by having the conversations they're hearing on screen with themselves, answering the questions they hear the filmmaker asking to assess their own characteristics. At the end of the viewing, the goal of the filmmaker's is that viewers walk away with a new outlook on themselves, their loved ones, and strangers.
This film offers a challenge to return to the humanity of seeing their neighbor as a being, and not just a body.
