The Options for Recovery (OFR) Program is a program that recruits, trains and approves resource parents, including relative caregivers, in Butte and Glenn Counties. Our goal is to have trained and approved resource homes dedicated to providing care to some of the most vulnerable children in our community in an effective and loving manner. This year OFR has teamed up with Julie Torok-Mangasarian, MA, LMFT, RPT-S, RPM of Cloverleaf Family Counseling to provide you with a training experience to remember. The training is on The Impact of Early Childhood Trauma on Brain, Attachment, and Behavior. Participants will explore the impact of childhood adversity, trauma and prolonged, unaddressed stress on the infant/toddler/preschooler and parent-child relationships. Additionally, the workshop will review how chronic stress may lead to interference with brain development, emotional regulation and can contribute to child maltreatment.
