The Council of Administrators of Special Education, California CASE and eLuma are excited to invite you to the Special Education event of the year! This very special and FREE event will feature, Heather Calomese, the State Director of Special Education with the California Department of Education, Laurie VanderPloeg, the Associate Executive Director of the Council of Exceptional Children, and Phyllis Wolfram, the Executive Director of theCouncil of Administrators of Special Education, as well as several other distinguished guests. This one-day symposium with provide updates from most current reform measures related to compliance & best practices. This workshop will make a difference in how you best serve students in One System, in partnership and collaboration within our General Education system. Symposium topics will include: California policy, legislation, and all the latest topics and trends.The latest trends and cases in California Special Education Law.National trends as well as current and upcoming legislation affecting California.National policy guidance and best practices.Resources, grants, and support for California Special Education DirectorsADR and Advocacy.Event tickets are FREE and are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, and are limited to 125 spots (please no more than four per district). Attendees will include SELPA Directors, Special Education Directors, Assistant Superintendents, ACSA members, Special Education Council l under ACSA, CA VIP’s. Complimentary lunch and refreshments will be provided with your registration along with the day full of amazing presentations, networking, and professional development.
