All activities are FREE except the Cigar & Bourbon Pairing event. Come spend a day in Florida's Friendliest Small Town , Havana, FL and listen to the locals share about their family life while growing up in the shade tobacco era! The day starts at 10:00 with opening remarks by Kendra Wilkerson, Havana's Town Manager, and Bill Piotrowski, HHHS Co-Chair. At 10:15, a panel of dignitaries from JC Newman Cigar Co. and Corona Cigar Co. will share "The Making of Fine Cigars - Then and Now". At 11:00 and 2:00, "The Planters Exchange" video will be shown. This video is of the history at the Planters Exchange. It includes stories told by local civic, business, educational and agricultural leaders. At 1:00, there will be a panel sharing their personal stories of "growing up in the shade tobacco era". The panel of six include Jeanette Swisher Buckley, Betty Butler, George Johnson, Sandy Johnson, Donna Salters and Linda Scruggs. Their stories will enlighten and amaze. Tours of the Planters Exchange's Shade Tobacco Museum occur at Noon, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00. Throughout the day enjoy talking with cigar aficionados and representatives from JC Newman and Corona and watching cigar rolling demonstrations by Master Cigar Roller Luis Gonzalez. The day also includes a Silent Auction and prizes throughout the day. Enjoy delicious food on the grounds at one of the food trucks, or at one of our local restaurants. Cigars & Bourbon Pairing - From 3:00 - 4:30 a separate ticked event ($25.00) will be held under the Pavilion which includes a cigar, bourbon & wine samples, prizes, refreshments and snacks. Event is limited to 42 participants and tickets may be purchased here or at the event, if still available. Wind the day up with friends enjoying the Madison Street band during Happy Hour from 3:30-5:00 - cash bar.
