The Torch of Wisdom Foundation will be celebrating 30 years of service in the community. To mark the occasion, on April 14, 2023 we will hold our 11th Honoring Local Heroes signature Black "No Tie" Gala at Silver Garden Events Center. This year, we are honoring the power and resilience of women in our local community who have exuded BOLD, GUTSY and FIERCE leadership in the areas of Community Service, Cultural Arts, and Scholarship. We are excited to present our Trailblazer Award to Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kyra Bolden and our Icon Award to Dr. Kimberlydawn Wisdom, Senior Vice President of Community Health & equity and Chief Wellness and Diversity Officer at Henry Ford Health System. Additionally, we've added a new category, RISING STAR, which will be awarded to a nominee aged 20-35 who has made exemplary efforts in any of the areas define above. Tickets are $75, (the tax-deductible amount is $40) and will be available until 12 noon on April 13th via Eventbrite. There will be a host of other dignitaries and pillars of the community in attendance, as well as heavy hors d'oeuvres and entertainment.
