In honor of Manchester's Bicentennial, we are kicking off a week-long photo contest with a free workshop led by professional photographers offering advice on capturing people, places and events on traditional film and cell phone cameras.
Professional and amateur photographers who live, work or visit Manchester are invited to submit up to 3 photos taken within city-limits from May 12-May 18. Although we don't have a specific limit on the number of images we will include in the EXPRESSIONS OF MANCHESTER exhibit Aug. 6 - Sept 29, we are selecting 23 photos (as in 2023 - Manchester's Bicentennial year) which we will print and prepare for display at no cost to the photographers.
Preference will be given to people who attend this or previous photo workshops as our goal is to not only showcase amazing images, but to bring people together for shared community experiences.
We are excited that photographers Lynn Damon (https://www.lynndamon.com/) and John Garavanta (https://garaventaphotography.com/) will share their expertise on Thursday 5/11at WORK_SPACE and then participants have a week to go around Manchester taking pictures and submitting three of their best by 11:59pm May 18th.
This program is free and light refreshments will be served.
