Description

This all-inclusive weaving class includes 4 hours of instruction, a loom to use, warping thread, weaving thread, weaving tools and light refreshments. A loom with weaving tools may be purchased for $72.00. We should all participate in the creation of beauty. It nourishes the soul. One simple way to create beauty is to make a wallhanging. Choose colors that speak to you. Enjoy the tactile feel of wool, alpaca, llama and Angora yarns as you learn the basics of tapestry weaving. This class will teach you how to set up a loom for weaving, show you how to make fringe, how to weave tabby, sumac, rya knots and most importantly how to keep your weaving together once it's off the loom. All supplies are provided. A loom is provided for your use, or one may be purchased separately. Raeschell Noonen is the owner of three llamas and one alpaca who provide fiber for her to use in weaving, knitting, spinning and dyeing with natural dyes. Her fiber journey began 9 years ago when she quit her administrative position and put llamas in her backyard. She has traveled extensively, taking classes in natural dyeing, surface design, and weaving. She teaches weaving in the Kenyon Craft Center and at Columbus College of Art and Design.
