Description

Home Educating the High School Student is a seminar for families that have 7th grade and above students planning or right in the midst of homeschooling their high school student. We will cover planning your student’s high school course work, graduation requirements, the transcript and resume, high school standardized testing, co-ops and dual credit, college and career options post high school, and staying organized. The Home Educating the High School Student is hosted by Shari Nelson, of CCC Toolbox: College, Career, and Calling – Counseling for the Homeschool Family. CCCToolbox.com Shari Nelson had the privilege of home educating her 4 children for over 20 years using a variety of curriculums and homeschooling opportunities. Shari and her sister, Liz Hach, opened the Christian Educators Resource Center (CERC) in 2006, serving as Director of Education until 2010. During this time, she taught co-operative classes to homeschoolers, including Bible, math, language arts and science. Shari also served on the Board of Directors at CERC in various positions and was able to fulfill her calling by encouraging home educators. From 2016-2022, she had the opportunity to be the College and Career Counselor at Poetry Community Christian School where God continued to grow her faith, knowledge and calling to serve high schoolers and their families. Through seminars and one-on-one assistance, Shari Nelson, with CCC Toolbox, advises families on creating an academic high school and graduation plan, providing resources to help students succeed no matter the learning challenge, walking them through college, career, and calling exploration, and preparing students for their post-secondary plans. Shari received her Bachelor of Science, Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Social Sciences at Liberty University in 2018. She then completed her Guidance Counselor Certification in College Admission Counseling and Advising through the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals, Inc. and Anderson University, South Carolina in 2021. She is currently a member of North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals, Inc and Texas Association of College Admission and Counseling.
