Elaine Miller-Karas, the developer of the Community Resiliency Model, will share her views on how to cultivate well-being in individuals and communities. She will share the basic tenets of the Community Resiliency Model. The Community Resiliency Model is biologically based, educating about the autonomic nervous system and how the body responds to stress. It is used for self-care for children, teens, and adults to stabilize emotions, resulting in more adaptive thinking
when facing emotional and physical distress.
Following Elaine Miller-Karas's presentation, Jenna Schmidt from Familywise will lead us in a community conversation to identify the strengths, needs, and strategies that will assist us in the development of a Clay County Resilient Community Plan.
