Oreoluwa Ojewuyi is passionate and dedicated journalist who has received awards for her investigative and opinion editorial reporting including Helping Heroes of Southern Illinois, Rookie of the Year, and Journalist of the Year awards. She is a graduate of SIUC. During her time at SIU she studied political science and journalism with a minor in French. She reported for the Daily Egyptian newspaper for one year before becoming the first Black woman to be Editor-in-Chief. She has been a part of multiple international exchanges including the Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange and the RIAS Berlin fellowship. She now works as a producer at WSIL news station. Julia Rendleman is a freelance photojournalist and assistant professor of photojournalism at SIUC. She is interested in human health, history, community and the environment. Her work has been used to advocate for affordable housing reform and for harm reduction approaches to substance abuse and rehabilitation. Her work was chosen for the best of American Photography 37 (for 2020). She attended the 7th annual New York Portfolio review in March, 2019. She is the July 2019 Project Support Awardee of the DocumentaryProjectFund for her personal project "Down the Pike," a series about American housing insecurity. She was a September 2017 grantee of the Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalists, investigating the implications of drug use and drug policy on women as it relates to the opioid crisis. Julia has received three grants from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Seth Martin is a senior studying Industrial Design at SIU and former Design Chief of The Daily Egyptian. Seth feels that design is how we engage with our world and strives to bring new ideas that can better our day-to-day interactions. In his free time, Seth enjoys running, biking, and spending quality time with friends and family. Kendra Kennedy-Gordon Assistant Professor, School of Journalism and Advertising Graphic Designer Carbondale Times/Thomas Publishing Kendra is a graphic designer with over 25 years in the publishing business. She has developed design and layout for local newspapers as well as a variety of commercial publications. She continues to work locally for the Carbondale Times/Thomas Publishing. Kendra earned an M.F.A. from SIUC in 1995. Jeff Mulligan is an SIU alum and a former reporter/anchor for WSIL-TV. He has more than 30 years of television news experience both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. He has worked as a reporter, anchor, producer, assistant news director and news director. Jeff has also worked in small, medium, and major markets. His recent stint was as an executive producer at the ABC owned and operated station in San Francisco. He returned to Southern Illinois in March 2022 to take over as News Director at WSIL-TV, the station that gave him his start in TV news.
