90-Second Newbery Film Festival 2023 - BOSTON SCREENING

Kids

700 Boylston Street,Boston MA 02116

25 March, 2023

Description

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in about 90 seconds. Creative takes are encouraged: think Charlotte's Web as a horror movie, or The Tale of Desperaux as a musical! For twelve years we've screened the best kid-made movies annually in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and many other cities . . . including right here in Boston! Make your FREE reservation for the BOSTON screening of this year's 90-Second Newbery! The screening is hosted by authors James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and Rebecca Mahoney (The Valley and the Flood and The Memory Eater). We'll be showing movies made by kids from Boston and some of the best from around the country. This year, the Boston 90-Second Newbery will screen on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 3-5 pm at the main branch of the Boston Public Library in Copley Square (in the Rabb Auditorium). Books will be available for sale, and you can hang out with the authors and filmmakers! Tickets are free! However, we recommend reserving your seat in advance to ensure admittance. Although a reservation is recommended, you don't have to bring a printed ticket. (Interested in making your own 90-Second Newbery movie? Great! You can find complete details, plus video resources, at the 90-Second Newbery website: http://www.90secondnewbery.com.) We rely on your support to keep the 90-Second Newbery going! If you like what we do, please consider making a donation here. Major support is provided by the Boston Public Library.
