It’s almost time for the Habitat Healers season to begin. If you’re a seasoned Habitat Healer or if you’re interested in finding out more, join us from 8:30 - 10 am on Saturday, April 1, for a Habitat Healers Kick-off Breakfast at the Collins Learning Center. Habitat Healers is the volunteer crew that meets on Saturdays, mid-April through mid-October, from 9 - 11 a.m. to help heal Crossroads lands. All ages are welcome, and no prior experience is necessary. This is a great family activity. Attend once or attend each week. Crossroads provides the gloves, tools, and instruction needed. The 2023 season begins Saturday, April 22. The Kick-off Breakfast is an informal chance for people to meet one another before the actual work begins. Nick Lutzke, our Land and Facilities Manager, will give an overview of the projects for 2023. Between Habitat Healers, contractors and staff, we will put 8,000 shrubs, plugs (grasses), and seedlings into the ground this year! (You can see why we need your help!) Find out what native species we’ll be planting and what invasive species we’ll be battling. Menu: Breakfast Potatoes, Eggs, Coffeecake, Toast, Juice and Coffee Free and open to the public.
