Description

Apologetics for New Generation This workshop will provide an overview of how we can communicate the Gospel of Christ through today's cultural context. Dr. Vince and Dr. Jo Vitale will emphasize the importance of building relationships with people from diverse cultures and equipping people to have meaningful conversations about Christian beliefs. They will provide practical steps for being an effective communicator and demonstrate how to engage in evangelistic conversations, such as asking the right questions, listening to the right words, and understanding the spiritual needs of their audience. This event will help you to bridge the gap between the questions of today and the eternal truths of the gospel, and the result will be greater confidence in your own faith in Christ and a deeper longing to share with others the reason for the hope that you have within you. Speakers Dr. Vince Vitale was educated at Princeton University and the University of Oxford, and he taught philosophy and theology as a faculty member briefly at Princeton and then for several years at Oxford. It was during his undergraduate studies at Princeton that Vince was challenged to read the Bible by two soccer teammates and took an unexpected journey from skeptic to evangelist. He then completed Master’s and PhD studies at Oxford. Vince currently serves as Faculty Scholar at CEO Forum. He has co-authored two books—Why Suffering?: Finding Meaning and Comfort When Life Doesn’t Make Sense (2014) and Jesus Among Secular Gods: The Countercultural Claims of Christ (2017)—as well as corresponding Bible studies with YouVersion and Lifeway Christian Resources. Dr. Jo Vitale is a Christian apologist and speaker who helps skeptics and Christians with their questions about the God of the Bible. Jo graduated with a Theology BA, an MSt in Biblical Interpretation, and a DPhil (PhD) in Old Testament studies, each from the University of Oxford. Having always been interested in questions surrounding sexism and the Bible, Jo focused on the topic of female beauty in the Old Testament for her doctoral research. Alongside her graduate studies, Jo served in teaching and pastoral roles at the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics. Jo has commended the Christian faith at various university campuses, churches, businesses and conferences around the world.
