Theanne Griffith will lead a discussion on how creativity is an essential skill that all successful scientists have, and ways in which you can foster creative scientific thinking in your children. Additionally, she will debunk the idea that Arts and Sciences are separate fields. She will talk about ways in which scientists use the "Arts," such as writing, photography, drawing, and graphic design regularly as part of their careers.
Dr. Griffith is a neuroscientist and the award-winning author of the STEM-
themed chapter book series, The Magnificent Makers, and co-writes the non-fiction
series, Ada Twist, Scientist: The Why Files. As a children’s book author, Dr. Griffith
blends her passions for storytelling and science while also working to promote diversity in STEM and inclusive representation in children’s media.
