Description

This 1 hour forest therapy walk is free to all residents of Pioneer Village and to all senior Jacksonville residents! It will take place on the grounds of Pioneer Village. The path is flat, paved and accessible for all including those with walkers, wheel chairs and motorized chairs. Assistance is available and seating is accessible throughout our gentle stroll! Experience the wellness-promoting effects of Forest Bathing and nature immersion while getting outside and having fun! Research shows that people who periodically practice Forest Bathing experience relief from stress, anxiety and depression, a deeper sense of mental relaxation, better sleep, and an increased feeling of gratitude and overall sense of well-being. Forest Bathing also lowers blood pressure and heart rate, elevates NK cancer-fighting cells in the body, and strengthens the immune system. During our relaxing slow paced walk, you may experience some of the many benefits of forest bathing, including calming your nervous system, boosting your immunity and improving your mood. You may even leave feeling uplifted, rejuvenated, and more connected to yourself and your environment. What to Bring: -You! -Any aid you usually use such as your walker, cane, walking poles etc. -Sun protection such as a wide brimmed hat, sunscreen or umbrella Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and light snacks fun will be provided at the end of our guided walk! Also, there will be plenty of fun conversation! Your guide is a Certified Wilderness Responder and carries a first aid kit at all times.
