Description
Would you like a well-mannered dog, but just need some guidance? As a dog trainer I am hosting an event designed for dog to work on calmness, desensitization, socialization, confidence build, and neutrality around people and other dogs. This is a structured group walk socialization opportunity where dogs will be in close proximity but not allow to interact with each other and must always be on a leash. Only one dog per person and this event will only take 10 dogs at this time. Socialization Socialization is listed as point number one because learning how to get along with other dogs is the best reason for group dog walks. Socialized dogs are not fearful of new situations and are more relaxed when meeting unfamiliar people or making friends with other dogs. Mental workout Dogs thrive on mental stimulation just as much as they do physical exercise. Traversing a different terrain, figuring out how to behave around other dogs, encountering new scents when unfamiliar dogs are nearby—these are all things that will give your dog a mental workout. Just like with humans, using the brain is beneficial. A dog whose mind is kept sharp will be happier, more well-rounded, and young at heart. Exercise boost Going on a group dog walk will ensure your dog gets their daily exercise every time you take part. A tired dog is a contented one, and this translates to better sleep at night, less boredom, and fewer destructive tendencies. For the safety of everyone’s dog the below are rules and requirements to join the group walk: 1. Must be vaccinated 2. No uncontrollable aggression and barking 3. No uncontrollable anxiousness 4. No uncontrollable reactivity 5. No retractable leashes – you must have your dog on a 6 or 8 ft regular leash 6. Bring a cot 7. Bring your dog favorite treats 8. There is no play time between the dogs during the session 9. Be prepared with poop bags to clean up after your dog if necessary 10. Female dogs WHILE IN HEAT cannot participate All dogs must be on a 6 - 8-foot regular leash and be able to walk on one side at a good steady pace. Prior registration is required. If obedience training is needed please let me know and I can help you learn how to train and build a relationship with your dog through positive based training, leadership, and verbal and non-verbal communication.
