International Women's Mountain Bike Day is recognized on the first Saturday in May, it is a day dedicated to women enjoying mountain biking with each other and encouraging fellow women to join them. Piedmont Fat Tire Society and Piedmont Lady Shredders are hosting an event on Saturday, April 29. 2023 to celebrate this day. This event is open to all Lady Shredders!!! This will be our third annual celebration. For the past two years over 50 ladies have joined us for skills clinics and group rides. This year we are doing it again and offering skills for all levels, bike related clinics, group rides, games, yoga and more! We will have Greensboro Mountain Bike Experience at the event which will allow us to have twelve mountain bikes available for use, so bring a friend and share the love of the sport! Please reserve a bike by emailing Lauren Elledge at [email protected]. If you know you will need to borrow this bike for the entirety of the clinic, please tell Lauren and she will make sure a bike is ready for your use. We are committed to keeping this event free for all women who would like to participate, but we will require registration. We will limit the event to 50 women so please register early. We will have a wait list so if you cannot come, please let us know so we can open spots up to those on the waiting list. You can choose clinics when you check in. Tentative Schedule: 8:30am check in begins 9:00am-10:00am social, yoga, bike checks, and stretching. Please bring a towel or mat 10:00am-11:30am Bike Specific Clinics to include Very Beginner, Beginner, Intermediate skills. Crush the Corners, Defying Gravity, Basic Bike Maintenance. Each clinic will last 45 minutes, you can choose up to two clinics when you check in. 11:00am-11:30am Little Lady Shredders group ride 11:30am-12:15 pm Lunch and a panel discussion on "all things bicycle" we will have a panel of ladies available to answer all your questions about group rides, racing, nutrition, attire, equipment... all things bicycle! 12:15-1:30pm- Organized group rides The event will officially end at 1:30pm and free riding will begin after that.
