Earth Day! April 22, 2023 2-3:30pm
In this hands on workshop we will learn the foundations to any successful garden. Whether you are an experienced gardener with a large plot of land or brand new starting with a single plant in your apartment window sill, it all starts with the soil. Cultivating a strong healthy foundation is the start to any successful garden, and yoga practice! Nourish your seeds with love and attention and enjoy the gifts of an abundant harvest. Just like a beautiful garden our yoga practice needs fertile soil to build a strong foundation for deep roots. If we nourish our practice with love and attention we relish in the abundance it provides. We will be getting our hands dirty mixing soil and planting on the floor so bring your mat or something to sit on, chairs can be provided if needed.
BIO: Sarah's love for gardening started sprouting in 2008 while living in Holladay Utah. The local yoga studio was a short walk away and on the route she would pass a beautiful community garden and inquired about tending one of the 30x30 plots. Once she got her hands in the dirt her love for growing food and community connection was quickly rooted. Over the years and growing seasons she has learned that gardening is much like life, the deepest lessons are learned by our failures. Many dead plants and spoiled harvests have brought her to the little slice of heaven she gardens on today. Some of her favorites to grow are herbs for the kitchen and teas, sunflowers, garlic and tomatoes.
