Hosted by Shambhala Gainesville
Mindfulness/awareness meditation is the foundation of all that we do at the Shambhala Meditation Center. This ancient practice of self-discovery is rooted in the simple but revolutionary premise that every human being has the ability to cultivate the mind’s inherent stability, clarity and strength in order to be more awake and to develop the compassion and insight necessary to care for oneself and the world genuinely.
Racial Minority Meditation Group is an inclusive and welcoming space to discover and explore how to bring meditation into our everyday lives as a way to improve the health and wellness of racial minorities.
No experience is needed.
Sequoia, aka Kane Barr, is the facilitator of the Racial Minority Group. They have been a member and student of Shambhala Gainesville since March 2018, as well as the Mixed Race Meditation Group since 2020. Sequoia also attends classes in strengthening one's intuition and participates in multiple types of energy work practices with the Sacred Earth Center.
