Cinema is back on Sistrunk! We are celebrating key moments in Black cinema at the Victory Black Box Theatre. Each month a member of the community has selected a film from the Black Cinema Archives. We invite you to watch along with us and share in a post screening conversation with our guest speaker. **Suggested $5 donation ** BLACK ARCHIVE FILM SERIES 2023 SPOTLIGHT: Sidney Poitier Initially created with the elderly community of Fort Lauderdale in mind, our Black Archive Film Series is a matinee film screening accompanied with a guest speaker from the community, that occurs on the second Monday of every month. With “Pay What You Can” based ticket prices and light refreshments, audience members can enjoy classic and modern films that highlight Black Cinema. Our 2023 programming spotlights the great Sidney Poitier and will be moderated by Don Mizell Esq. American Film Institute – Film Producing, 1976, Harvard Law School – J.D., 1975, Swarthmore College – B.A., Anthropology, 1971. There will be an additional guest host invited to discuss the films each month.
