Ever feel “hangry” but then calmer because you had a snack? Ever find yourself “knowing better” but finding it hard to resist that extra cookie, because it makes you feel so good? Food not only affects our mood but often our mood affects our food choices, and not always in consistent ways. This can lead to confusion and frustration with our eating. Join us as we explore the mysterious and important relationship between what we eat and the feelings that go with it. We will review basic nutrition, learn how various nutrients affect our state of mind and body, and consider how both emotional and social factors often override the practice of good nutrition. By learning more about how these all interact, and how they can work together, we can find more balance and enjoyment in our eating experience. Pre-registration required.
