In this class, you will learn how to make faux sea glass beads and etch them to simulate years of tumbling in the surf. In addition, you will learn advanced techniques to make a sculptural focal bead in a design of your choosing: such as a sea shell, sand dollar, sea star, or whale tail. A selection of colored glass will be available for you customize your creations in your favorite colors. After class, your beads will be carefully annealed for strength and will be available for pick up the following week. Your instructor, Steve Bay, is a glass artist that creates sculpture and jewelry using flameworking and fusing (@stevebayglass). Steve applies his marine biology research background to capture the beauty and remarkable design of nature in his art. Class size is limited to six persons to ensure personal attention from the instructor. Participants must be at least 13 years of age.
