DROP DEAD/COME CLEAN is a dual artist one-night-only event focusing on two direct artists, Jason Landis and Brvinfreeze, in a unique space. Food provided by our friends at LOVE HOUR. Sounds by Aye James, Kim Hu, and special guests. Sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon. This event is open to the public. RSVP does not guarantee entry. ________ ABOUT JASON LANDIS: I've spent a lot of time on my own. As a kid, I wasn't allowed to have a dog, and instead spent hours looking for spiders in the yard. As a teenager, most of my time was spent running around the streets with my friends skateboarding and doing graffiti. I was never really one for team sports. When I was 14, I couldn't go to school after being hit by a car twice while riding my bike and was instead home in casts. I had found myself through my independence, and now without it, I embraced the chaos. I had to learn to find comfort in that. As an adult, I'm still just a kid in the yard looking for spiders, but I prefer to make work that balances both order, and the fun in disarray. I want my work to feel good and for the experience of capturing these images to come through to the viewer. I have little tolerance or attention span to do anything otherwise. I want my audiences to see my photos and wish they could be placed right into them. Creating the scene is just as important as clicking the shutter. I'm often juggling multiple projects, and I'm not afraid of starting something new. I struggle with knowing when something is finished and constantly return to old work, going through past images and ideas, looking to see if I catch a glimpse of something new. You never know when you'll get hit by that third car, so if you have an idea, you might as well make the effort to see it through.  Website, Instagram @jasonlandis ________ ABOUT BRVINFREEZE: BrvinFreeze is a visual artist whose practice spans across music, art and video. Inspired by the composition of the urban landscape and the ideology of punk rock, BF explores bold text, sentiment, and analog video techniques in his work. Born in Los Angeles, BrvinFreeze grew up around graffiti, skateboarding, and street life, which were passions that allowed his creativity to exist without having to cater to society’s standards. With a decade's worth of gritty graphics and video art for streetwear brands, BrvinFreeze adds his personal philosophy and curatorial taste to each project he works on. Blurring the lines between audio and visual arts, he shares his latest ideas through apparel, music and curated objects.
