Fun with Hammers! (ages 5-8)

Let's get banging! Come learn how to safely use a hammer to make two fun projects out of wood. After learning how to safely use the tools to hammer nails into wood, we will make a wood and metal porcupine to practice our hammering skills. Once everyone is comfortable with the hammers, each child will make their own tool box or art box to decorate and take home. NOTE: This class is for Beanlandia members. If you are not a Beanlandia member but would like to take this workshop, you can sign up for a Beanlandia membership here. Beanlandia memberships are pay-what-you-like per month. About the Instructor My name is Ben Dendy and I am excited to be one of the instructors at Community Workshop NOLA. I have participated in many woodworking projects since I was a little kid. I would help my dad make things and he taught me how to properly use different wood working tools safely. Since then I have developed my skills by completing my own projects. While woodworking was a hobby for me most of my life, I have almost always worked in the construction industry since graduating college with a degree in construction management. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach people the skills to make beautiful and useful objects out of wood.
