About Southern Women Philanthropy Conference Southern Women Philanthropy Conference is a multi-partisan allyship coalition centered in Black women's enterprise. We are partners invested in transforming communities of color through grants. skills training and technical assistance for entrepreneurs and civic leaders inspiring their communities through social change. Institutional inequality, driven by lack of access to funding, grants and loans is why only 3% of Black entrepreneurs run mature small businesses to date. In 2020, ordinary female leaders organized food distribution in rural counties, deployed PPE and answered the call for social injustice in their own front yards during the pandemic. Three years later, they remain underrepresented as the smallest demographic of female founders, CEOs, business owners and elected officials in the United States. Beyond the obsession over Black women’s roles in electoral politics, there is a lack of appreciation, representation and investment in the grassroots organizations that drive political participation—through promoting policies that matter to Black women and by supporting Black women on the ballot. Help kickstart our first 500 small businesses and civic campaigns this summer by purchasing your tickets today!
