About the workshop:
Try your hand at woodworking and fine art printing in some of the shops in the NextFab makerspace by creating a wooden picture frame in the woodshop and printing a fine art print or photo using our large-scale photo printer in this two-day workshop.
This workshop will teach you the best practices of printing fine art and photography prints and making a matching wooden frame. You will learn about different types of high-quality paper, how to format your images for printing, and how to cut a professional matte to fit. After learning the ins and outs of our photo printer, we'll explore the router table on the second day of this workshop. Learn about edge profiles by creating rabbets and roman ogees, as well as stopped cuts, creating keyholes, using MDF templates, and the Dubby Cutoff Sled. By the end of the second day, frame your picture with a custom-fit wooden frame for a professional finish.
All materials are provided in your class cost.
