If you are ready to bring yourself more kindness and compassion, THIS DANCE IS FOR YOU! Chakradance is a dynamic wellness practice which uses music specifically created to resonate withing our chakras, helping to more easily open and move the energy within them. There are no set steps to this dance- we are asked to let the music move our bodies allowing them to unwind and release anything no longer serving our highest good. Join our dance of the Anahata Chakra. Translated to English Anahata means unstuck or unhurt. Life is not without its pains. Often after our heart is hurt we close it off to try and help keep ourselves safe. When we do this however, we close off a vital part of us. Give yourself the gift of opening and healing your Heart Chakra. In this approximately 90 minute class we will have the opportunity to get to know this source of our loving kindness and compassion. We will connect with it through the dance- activating and allowing our hurts to be blown away by a soft breeze. We will see if its unbalanced and learn a few ways to work with this energy center as well as how to continue it's healing beyond the dance. Afterwards we will create mandala art to help us keep the experience with us long after we have left the space. Past participants have said that doing the dance is a little like going into a trance or a waking dream. It allows us to take ourselves outside of our normal realm of awareness and focus intently on our own bodies and the experience within them. All adults are welcome. You do not need to be an artist or dancer to participate in this workshop! Chakradance is typically done in a darkened room (there is no need for us to see what ours or other bodies are doing) and in bare feet to better connect with the earth. If you know that dancing barefoot does not work for your body, please bring a pair of clean dry shoes to change into.
