Description
NOTE: FurstWurld requires proof of Vaccination or a 72 hour covid test, at the door. This is going to be a killer evening of music at Furstwurld! Abronia: (Portland, OR) http://abronia.bandcamp.com https://www.instagram.com/abroniaband/ https://open.spotify.com/artist/4BTddjd5LzqjQ5WAViSw0g Abronia has released three full length albums since 2017. Their most recent, Map of Dawn, was released in May of 2022 by Cardinal Fuzz (UK & the World) and Feeding Tube Records (N. America). It was their second record released on those labels. Summer 2022 saw their first European/UK tour, which included an appearance at The Supersonic Festival in Birmingham, England. Abronia has shared bills with bands like Kikagaku Moyo, Grails, Unwound, Six Organs of Admittance, Blackwater Holylight, Eternal Tapestry, US Girls, Imarhan, and Horse Lords amongst others. “Abronia makes music for scorched planets–conjuring images of rattlesnakes in the burning sun, determined and dangerous.” –Post-Trash Opossum Sun Trail: (Joshua Tree) https://opossumsuntrail.com/ Originally out of Humboldt county California, and most recently the Mojave desert, comes trio of nomads Opossum Sun Trail. Equal parts western film soundtrack, Bakersfield twang and over the top psychedelia, these desert weirdos have run the gamut of gigs from big city psych festivals to backwoods dives. Their unique live instrumentation includes Nola Pierce (Moon Pine) on Wurltizter piano, vocals and moog synth bass, Michael Dieter (White Manna, DDT) on guitar and vocals as well as John Daren Thomas (ex-Nik Turner's Hawkwind, Albert Lee, Idaho). Most recent works recorded with Tim Green have been bio-regional compositions that seek a connection to place. One half written and reflecting the great Mojave desert and the other the tangled forests of the Klamath mountains of northern California and southern Oregon. The Former: (Joshua Tree/Landers) https://www.instagram.com/theformerband/ The Former play self-described "Lynchian-Jazz-Damage."
