Rajendra Singh, Waterman of India Chairman, Peoples World Commission on Drought and Flood, Sweden Rajendra Singh is a renowned environmentalist and water conservationist based in Alwar, Rajasthan. He is known as the "waterman of India" and has received numerous awards for his contribution to water conservation. He won the Magsaysay Award in 2001 and the Stockholm Water Prize in 2015. He is the founder of the NGO Tarun Bharat Sangh (TBS), which has been instrumental in fighting bureaucracy and mining lobbies to help villagers manage water in their semi-arid area near Thar Desert using innovative and time-tested methods such as johads, rainwater storage tanks, and check dams. TBS has built more than 8,600 johads and other water conservation structures to collect rainwater for the dry seasons, restored water to more than 1,000 villages, and revived five Rajasthan rivers: Arvari, Ruparel, Sarsa, Bhagani, and Jahajwali. Rajendra Singh is also a member of the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA), a planning, financing, monitoring, and coordinating authority for the Ganges (Ganga) established by the Indian government in 2009. He founded the UK NGO Flow Partnership to combat soil erosion and flooding.Rajendra Singh's work in water conservation and management has been instrumental in bringing about positive change in the lives of people living in the arid regions of India. His efforts have not only helped in restoring water sources but have also contributed to the ecological balance of the region. His contributions to the field of water conservation have earned him recognition and respect not only in India but across the world. Satyanarayana Bolisetty Satyanarayana Bolisetty is a first-generation entrepreneur who has transformed himself into an environment conservationist, human rights and social activist over the past 15 years. He believes that the environment is the source of life for all living beings and their surroundings, and has committed himself to protecting it. Mr. Bolisetty has led the Krishna River Parliament comprising people from all five states of Krishna River through Nadhi Parirakshan Yatra, as directed by Dr. Rajendra Singh. He has actively worked with Dr. Singh to protect many water bodies in Northern Andhra Pradesh, and has filed cases on the AP Govt & MoEF to protect marine and groundwater resources in North Andhra Pradesh. One of his major achievements is the revival of the "Mudasurlova" reservoir in Visakhapatnam, which was dried up. Mr. Bolisetty has shown his commitment, conviction, coordination, character, and courage in fighting against the might, and Dr. Singh appointed him as National Convenor of Tarun Bharat Sangh. Mr. Bolisetty has been honoured with the "Paryavaran Sanrakshan Sanman 2020" by Dr. Rajendra Singh for his efforts in protecting the environment. He has also received an order from the National Green Tribunal to restore 106 acres of mangrove forest that was destroyed by the state government in the name of building houses for poor people.
