Official Ties Pong Rules Start of Game: The first shot is decided by “Eyes.” Each opponent must maintain eye contact with each other while shooting. Whoever makes their cup starts the game. If both opponents make/miss the cup their partners shoot, continue until 1 team has made a shot. Elbows: Players must keep their elbows behind the edge of the table while shooting Re- Racks: Each team is allowed one re-rack per round. Must be called at the beginning of their turn. Each team is also allowed 1 “Gentleman's Rerack” once there are two cups left. Balls Back: If both players make a cup in the same turn they get balls back for another turn. If players make the same cup the opposing team must remove 3 cups. The cup that was made and two of their choice. Bouncing/Swatting: If a ball hits the table and then goes into a cup (even by accident), the cup that the ball goes into is removed, as well as another cup of the defending player’s choice. Defensive players may swat away bounces. If there are only 2 cups remaining, the bounce counts as only one cup. Heating Up/Fire: After a player hits two cups in a row, they can call “heating up.” If they make their third shot, they can announce that they're on fire and they shoot until they miss. If the player fails to announce that they’re heating up they cannot call on fire . Island: Each player is allowed to call “Island” once per game. If the cup is made two cups must be removed, the one that was made and one of the defending teams choice. You can’t win on an island. If both players on the shooting team call “island” and make the same cup the defending team must pick 2 additional bonus cups to remove and drink. The shooting team is awarded balls back. Rollbacks: If a player shoots and the ball comes back to them without hitting the ground, the player is allowed another shot but it must be a trick shot. (Behind the back, non-dominant hand, etc.) Rebuttal: After the last cup is made, each player from the opposing team has a chance to make the remaining cups. Each player shoots until they miss, once both players miss the game is over. Death Cup: If a team makes a cup and the opposing team forgets to pull it, during the next turn the team who made the cup originally can call “Death Cup”, meaning if they make the same cup they made the turn before, the game is over. No questions asked! End of Game: Acknowledge the winner, reset the cups and go to the scorers table and report that you have won your round, wait until the next opponent is ready and begin as soon as possible. No Time Limit Overtime: Regular 4 cup overtime rules. Any discrepancies about the rules during a match you can request a ref (Gene, Stevie or Tommy) and we will make the final call. We will be in referee t-shirts. Start of Game: The first shot is decided by “Eyes.” Each opponent must maintain eye contact with each other while shooting. Whoever makes their cup starts the game.
