Description

Get ready to learn a fun new eco-skill and connect with your eco-community! Learn how to reuse and repurpose fabric scraps in to useful and beautiful Eco Twine with Scrapwerx at The Refillery. This hands-on workshop is great for kiddos and adults! You'll take home a ball of eco twine to use for gift wrapping, crocheting projects, or let your imagination run wild! Have you heard of eco-twine? Eco twine is made by reusing strips of fabrics and spinning them together to create a sturdy string. Oftentimes, these ends of fabrics are thrown away so making and using eco twine keeps this scrap fabric out of landfill. What do you do with eco twine? You can use eco twine instead of ribbon or string or those cheap bows that get thrown away for wrapping gifts or organizing. You can also use eco twine to crochet items like baskets or totes. You can also weave with eco twine to make macrame projects or even use it as shoe laces! The possibilities are endless! Learning to make eco twine is an awesome eco-skill to have in your zero waste tool box! We love partnering with Scrapwerx because we share the same values and goals: reduce, reuse, repurpose! All fabric materials will be provided by Scrapwerx. This is a donation based event. 100% of donations will go directly to Scrapwerx founder, Barb Grossman, for her time and curation of supplies. Events at The Refillery are a great way to grow and expand your eco-community!
