TU African and African American Studies and the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC) are hosting the festival to promote literacy and creativity. The festival will include:
Two panel discussions featuring comic book professionals (writers, artists, etc.).
Two hands-on workshops for youth (how to draw characters; how to write/create a comic book; how to develop a character)
Screenings One room dedicated to a slide show of historic images, screening of a documentary, and pre-recorded panel discussions (including an amazing discussion featuring independent comic book artists in Africa).One room dedicated to classic films/cartoons and independent films/cartoons featuring African American characters.
Costumed superheroes roaming the halls!
Marketplace featuring independent comic book producers.
