This is a Family Friendly class for Mushroom lovers who want to learn more about the AMAZING Morel Mushroom. We will be discussing the importance of temperature, rain, foraging tips, ecoregions, colors and look-a-likes that you may come across when searching through the forest. Foraging for morel mushrooms is an incredibly rewarding and exciting activity, but it can be overwhelming to figure out how to get started. That's why we are hosting this class to learn the basics of hunting and identifying these awesome fungi. Everything from safety tips and gear selection to edible mushroom identification and habitat selection, this class will have you ready to go on your next hunt with confidence! We will also have a special Morel Mushroom presentation by Associate Professor Stephen Marek from Oklahoma State University. He will be giving a fascinating presentation on morel mushrooms that is not to be missed. With detailed explanations of the different types of morels, their habitats, and how to identify them, this presentation offers an in-depth look into what makes these delectable fungi so unique.
