The Blue Marble is an image of the Earth that the crew of the Apollo 17 spacecraft captured on December 7, 1972 at a distance of about 45,000km (28,000 miles). It is one of the most reproduced images in human history. FIUTS celebrates and honors the diversity of our "Blue Marble" by bringing our community together to cultivate cross-cultural understanding and global student leadership. The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students (FIUTS) is a nonprofit organization founded on campus at the University of Washington and focused on promoting international understanding and community. FIUTS envisions a global community, tied to the Pacific Northwest, in which people are connected through friendship, mutual respect, and a commitment to international understanding. FIUTS is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year with a memorable gala and silent auction. Join us for an inspiring night as we hear from students and community members impacted by FIUTS and hold a silent auction of generously donated items and experiences.
