Please join the Autism Society of Texas and other nonprofit groups, stakeholders, parents, and concerned advocates, as we spend the morning discussing legislative issues that impact individuals with Autism and disabilities and their loved ones. Following issues & advocacy training, we will have lunch. After lunch we will visit with legislators or their staff. Lunch & t-shirt are included with your registration. *T-shirt deadline is 3/8 at noon! * Attendees-Register by 3/8 to guarantee size. Shirt not guaranteed if registering after 3/8 (remainder of shirts will be first come first size with limited quantities) Sponsors & Partners-Register by 3/6 to be included on tee! PLEASE FILL THIS OUT FOR T-SHIRT SIZE & DIETARY RESTRICTIONS! We need your t-shirt size & dietary restrictions! We will have Texas Autism Advocacy Day T-shirts that can be picked up at check in! We'd love to have everyone wear them! Please select your t-shirt size & let us know about any special dietary requirements here or at link above in all caps! *Register by 3/8 at noon to guarantee event tee. No advocacy experience is required and we would love to have as many attendees as possible! During legislative visits, if you are not comfortable communicating with legislators or their staff we will assign you to a group with an appointed spokesperson. Capitol Building Map. Schedule: Our schedule is being finalized, and we will send additional details as the event gets closer. We will spend the morning learning about bills & issues, break for lunch (included), and then make legislative visits in the afternoon. Although we will start promptly at 9 AM, latecomers are welcome to join at any time.  Check in & arrival begin at 8:45 AM. It can take a while to walk from the parking lot and get through security, so please allow ample time for walking and parking. We recommend comfortable footwear! It's also fine to leave early- we know many of you may need to pick up loved ones from school, therapy, etc! We will email all registered participants with detailed information a couple of days before the event. Parking:  Inexpensive parking is available in the Capitol Visitor's Parking Garage. It is located at 1201 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX 78701. Financial assistance:  We can cover the cost of registration for those requiring financial assistance.
