Basically, it means swapping out the five or six fossil-fueled appliances in your home for clean, efficient electric ones, to reduce emissions, save money, and have a much healthier and more comfortable home. For example, switching your gas stove to an induction stove or your furnace for a heat pump.Please join us on Saturday, April 15 at 12:00 noon as Rewiring America volunteer Jim Bright, a local resident, discusses electrification in the context of his own household's solar and electrification projects as well as the Inflation Reduction Act, the 2022 federal legislation that includes significant tax and rebate incentives to help households electrify this year and beyond. With the tax credits available now, and with electrification rebates materializing this year, households have strong financial incentives to choose ultra-efficient appliances and HVAC machines.
