The long anticipated Disney’s Live Action: The Little Mermaid staring Halle Bailey and Melissa McArthy is FINALLY upon us. This has been something I’ve wanted to do since I first heard that the retelling of the classic The Little Mermaid was in production. This private screening is a chance for my friends, family, and colleagues to get together and enjoy the film with no other distractions or audience in the theater with us. I just want the room full of JOY. The theater holds 89 people so you are more than welcome to bring a friend or two who also share the same passion and excitement for The Little Mermaid, but please RSVP. While not required, I am requesting that all in attendance dress to impress in something red carpet worthy or something Mermaid themed. I want the full experience for us, photos and all. I am not charging for attendance but am asking for donations to the GoFundMe that I have set up to donate at least 100 Ariel dolls 🧜🏽‍♀️(Dolls for the Underserved ) to underserved communities in Sacramento. If you can donate please do. If not please share the link. Every bit helps Please come with a childlike spirit suspended disbelief and just be ready to ENJOY the film as it was meant be enjoyed. Not as a think piece for a critical theory class 😬💙 The Little Mermaid has been one of my personal favorite Disney Princess films since I was a child and I want this to be a MOMENT! So let’s get fresh and cute and HAVE FUN! For the event they are providing slightly discounted snacks but they must be ordered in advance or pay regular price the day of.
