Known to the Naragansett people as Namcook, Rome Point is accessible through the John Chafee Rome Point Presevere. This trail is a down-and-back trail that leads to the waterfront of Naragansett Bay. In fact, it is a wonderful location to spot the variety of seals that make the Bay their home.
Conditions: The trail conditions at Rome Point are flat. It is best to wear hiking boots seeing that the trail can be wet and muddy from time-to-time. If you have a scope, you may wish to bring it seeing that the walk leads to shore of Naragansett Bay where waterfowl frequent.
