Kathy (aka Dr. Lotus) and Kevin (aka Stretch) thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail as a flip-flop in 2022. They went Northbound from Pawling, New York to Katahdin then Southbound from Pawling to Springer Mountain. Thru-hiking the AT ignited their love for long-distance backpacking and they plan to section-hike 1,200 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail this summer. Lotus and Stretch share a hiking Instagram (@trekkingsketches) and website (www.trekkingsketches.com) where they documented their AT thru-hike in detail. Richard "Crossword" Guenther lives in Kensington, Maryland and has been married for 32 years to his lovely wife Diana. He has 3 wonderful children and was involved in Scouting for over a decade. He worked in the banking industry and then in corporate finance and operations, retiring in early 2020. He started backpacking in 2010 and has hiked all over the world.
