Join CAFE 180, in collaboration with The Culinary Creative for an exclusive event. Chef Johnny DePierro of Señor Bear and Chef Blake Edmunds of Mister Oso will take over the CAFE 180 kitchen to create unique dishes to excite your palete. The incredible food will be accentuated by signature cocktails curated by Nicole Lebedevitch of Forget Me Not cocktail lounge. Learn how CAFE 180 has continued to serve the Englewood community for over 12 years and how you can be apart of its future success. John “Johnny” DePierro is the Executive Chef at Señor Bear, a Latin-inspired restaurant, in the Latin Division of the The Culinary Creative Group. Johnny draws inspiration from his Puerto Rican heritage and loves to infuse unique flavors and techniques into his dishes. Growing up in an Italian/Puerto Rican household, Johnny was exposed to a variety of fusion cuisine such as rice & gandules and lasagna for Christmas dinner. Johnny's biggest inspiration in the kitchen is his mother, whose rice and gandules with fried chicken cutlets is his favorite dish. Johnny believes that food should be approachable and soulful, and his extensive experience working with some of the best chefs in the world, including the legendary team at Noma, has honed his craft. In the kitchen, Johnny encourages positivity, contribution, and respect, and he views every mistake as an opportunity to learn and improve. When Johnny is not cooking, he enjoys exploring new restaurants and traveling the world to discover new flavors and ingredients. With his passion for cooking and unique perspective, Johnny looks forward to sharing his culinary creations with you at Señor Bear. Blake Edmunds is a seasoned, Colorado native chef who is passionate, creative and behind some of your favorite menus in Denver. Before joining The Culinary Creative Group in 2015 to open Bar Dough in 2015, Edmunds worked in acclaimed restaurants around the United States, including: La Cabro d’Or (France), Le Bernardin (New York), the Restaurant at Meadowood (California), Ubuntu (Napa), Haven (Oakland), Sweet Basil (Vail) and Fruition in Denver. After serving as executive chef at Señor Bear, Edmunds was an integral part of opening award-winning Mister Oso in the RiNo neighborhood. Señor Bear and Mister Oso capture Edmund’s creativity, his innovative vision and dedication to his craft by delivering Latin American cuisine in a vibrant, fun environment. Both concepts have received numerous accolades, like being named as a brunch stop in Denver by The New York Times for 36 Hours, recognized as a “Taste Worth Traveling For” by Thrillist and Chase and was listed as one of Denver’s best 100 restaurants in Westword for 2022.
