The Department of Neighborhoods and community partners GEJ Properties LLC, Community Collective for Houston, and the Houston Black Real Estate Association are hosting this workshop to inform citizens about alternatives to selling inheritance properties. Workshop Topics include: 1. Options in lieu of selling family properties (Ex: Renovation and renovation capital, land leases for signage, cell tower, parking, etc., Short term rentals, donation, etc.) 2. Legal protections to keep family property in the family, navigating title concerns, and deed options . After the presentations, attendees can also meet with an attorney or real estate agent to talk specifically about their property.
